This Isn’t Traditional Talk Therapy

Many of my clients come to me after years of trying to think their way through pain—through journaling, self-help books, or traditional talk therapy—without finding lasting relief. If that sounds familiar, you’re not alone. Healing often begins not just with words, but with what the body and spirit are trying to say.

Here, therapy is a space to breathe again—to integrate art, faith, and nervous system regulation in a way that helps you feel grounded, whole, and renewed.

 FAQs

  • I use the term Integrative Art Therapy because I draw from multiple evidence-based modalities — art therapy, sensorimotor interventions, somatic awareness, parts work (IFS), and EMDR — to support the mind, body, and spirit together rather than focusing on one area in isolation.

I help my clients to pay attention to the body’s wisdom and signals — learning how emotions, tension, and stress show up physically. This is often an entry way to understand deeper about your internal world.

And creativity is a core part of healing in this space. You don’t need to be an artist — the goal is expression, not perfection. Through imagery, color, and movement, art becomes a gentle and accessible language for the nervous system and inner self.

Together, these approaches help you build awareness, restore calm, and reconnect with your authentic self in a way that feels both deeply personal and wholistically healing.

  • Each session is tailored to meet you where you are — emotionally, mentally, and physically. We usually begin by checking in on how you’ve been feeling since our last session and noticing what’s showing up in your body, thoughts, and emotions.

From there, we might explore a theme through art-making, somatic grounding, or parts work (IFS) — depending on what feels most supportive that day. You might use materials like watercolor, collage, or simple drawing to express what’s beneath the surface. No art experience is needed; the process itself helps your nervous system slow down and your inner world find clarity.

For some clients, sessions may also include gentle guided visualization or EMDR resourcing to deepen emotional regulation and healing.

We close with resonation—bringing together what you’ve discovered in session and helping it settle into your body, mind, and daily life.

  • I structure sessions as 75 minutes because integrative work — including art, somatic exploration, and parts work (IFS) — takes time to be meaningful.

Shorter sessions often feel rushed, especially when moving between check-in, creative exercises, and reflection. With 75 minutes, there’s enough space to:

    • Tune into your body and nervous system

    • Explore emotions through art and parts work

    • Reflect and integrate with insights before leaving the session

This longer format helps you experience deeper calm, clarity, and progress without feeling pressured to rush through any part of the process.

  • I integrate Christian perspectives in a gentle, client-centered way — through reflection on scripture, prayer, or faith-based themes — always guided by your comfort and needs.

Welcome! I’m Eunice Lim.

I’m a licensed marriage and family therapist and a registered art therapist practicing in California. I’m passionate about helping women heal from the heaviness of anxiety, the quiet ache of depression, and the soul-weariness of emotional overwhelm.  I would love to see more women feel grounded with their minds, bodies, and spirit - so they can step into the next chapter with clarity, compassion, and renewed strength. My approach is less about traditional talk therapy and more about creating space for you to feel and experience RELEASE in your body and mind. (Perhaps, now is a good time to take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your mouth…sigh….)

Sessions with me are collaborative - I’ll gently lead you through practices that support nervous system regulation, emotional clarity, and inner steadiness, so you’re not just talking about healing - you’re actively living it. I would be honored to walk with you on this journey.
