Overview
As we move into a new year, many of us are still carrying stress, tension, and emotional weight. This in-person workshop offers a gentle, grounded way to reconnect with yourself through art, body awareness, and intentional making.
You will be guided through a structured yet spacious process that supports nervous system regulation, emotional settling, and inner clarity. The experience is designed to help you feel more resourced rather than overwhelmed, and to leave with a sense of completion and care.
The second half of the workshop introduces the essentials of ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arranging, guided by florist Jennifer (@letthemeatflowers). This portion invites an art form of flower arranging. We will build our own mini sculpture using a floral frog and seasonal flowers.
No art or floral experience needed.
What You Will Experience
An example of process-based art used to support grounding and regulation. All activities are adaptable and optional.
Part One: Art for Nervous System Regulation
Led by Eunice Lim, LMFT, ATR
You will be guided through a five-step process that supports regulation and grounding through art and gentle somatic awareness. This includes:
Grounding and orienting to safety
Releasing built-up activation in a contained way
Noticing sensations and inner cues
Gentle containment so you do not leave feeling raw or open
Meaning-making and integration
This portion emphasizes process over product and invites self-compassion, curiosity, and nervous system care.
Part Two: Essentials of Ikebana
Guided by florist Jennifer (@letthemeatflowers)
You will be introduced to the foundational principles of ikebana, focusing on simplicity, balance, and intention. This portion offers a gentle entry into flower arranging as a contemplative art form. You will create your own small sculptural arrangement using a floral frog and seasonal flowers.
