Therapy for Self-Doubt and Self-Esteem in California

You can be capable, thoughtful, and dependable while still feeling that you’re falling short. A compliment may be hard to take in. A small mistake may stay with you for days. You might look to other people for reassurance, then question yourself again as soon as it wears off.

I’m Eunice Lim, LMFT, ATR. I offer online therapy for women in California who want to understand persistent self-doubt and build a different relationship with themselves.

When “not good enough” follows you everywhere

Self-doubt can affect how you make decisions, speak up, create, and connect with others. You may compare yourself to people who seem more confident, overprepare to avoid criticism, or dismiss what you’ve accomplished. Sometimes it becomes difficult to tell what you actually want apart from what will earn approval.

In therapy, we can explore the messages and experiences that shaped these expectations, as well as what continues to reinforce them now. There is room to consider family, culture, faith, relationships, and the responsibilities you carry without deciding in advance what your story means.

How I help with self-doubt

I use conversation, IFS-informed parts work, art therapy, and body awareness to help you notice how self-criticism operates. Rather than asking you to replace every painful thought with a positive one, we can explore what the critical part is trying to prevent and what happens when it takes charge.

For example, we might explore a part that pushes you to be impressive and another that wants to stop trying because failure feels too painful. Through drawing, color, or collage, you can give each perspective room to be seen. You decide what the images mean, and we follow what feels useful to you.

We can also notice what happens in your body when you receive feedback or express a preference. Grounding and small, manageable experiments can support the work of staying connected to yourself in those moments. No art experience is needed, and talking is always an option.

What change might look like for you

We might work toward making a decision without repeatedly asking permission, receiving a compliment without dismissing it, or responding to a mistake without attacking yourself. Your goals may also include recognizing your own preferences and allowing your worth to matter even when you aren’t accomplishing something.

We’ll notice how these goals show up outside the session and adjust our work together.

Online therapy at your pace

I work with women throughout California through online sessions. Art invitations are optional, and we can use materials you already have. Christian faith integration is available only if you request it.
