Trauma Therapy for Women in California
You may understand that a painful experience is over and still notice yourself bracing for what could happen next. Conflict, criticism, or closeness might bring up strong feelings. At other times, you may feel numb, distant, or unsure of what you need.
I’m Eunice Lim, LMFT, ATR. I offer online therapy for women in California who want support with the lasting effects of painful experiences and relational wounds.

Making sense of what still affects you
Painful experiences can influence how you relate to yourself and others. You might struggle to trust, feel responsible for keeping the peace, or become overwhelmed by a situation that seems small from the outside. We can explore these responses without assuming that every difficulty is caused by trauma or requiring you to use a label that doesn’t fit.
You don’t need to arrive ready to tell your entire story. We begin by understanding what is affecting you now, what support you have, and what helps you stay connected to the present.
How I approach trauma work
We make decisions about pace together. Before exploring difficult material, we can work on recognizing overwhelm, finding ways to pause, and identifying support you can return to during and between sessions. You can say no, change direction, or ask to stop.
IFS-informed parts work offers a way to understand responses such as withdrawing, staying on guard, or trying to please everyone. We might explore what a protective part learned and what it needs now, without pressuring it to change before you feel ready.
Art therapy can give you another way to express an experience without describing every detail aloud. We might use color, shapes, or an image to explore a boundary, a feeling, or a source of support. You decide what your artwork means and what you want to share. No art experience is required.
Body awareness, grounding, guided imagery, and EMDR-informed resourcing may also be part of our work. Resourcing focuses on developing supports for managing distress and staying present. It is distinct from EMDR memory reprocessing, and we’ll talk about the purpose of any approach before using it.
What we can work toward
Your goals might include noticing a trigger sooner, recovering more steadily after conflict, expressing a limit, or feeling more able to choose how you respond. We can also explore relationships, trust, identity, and self-worth as they become relevant to you.
Online support that respects your choices
Sessions are available online throughout California. Conversation and creative work are both welcome. Christian faith integration is available only at your request.
